Weekly Overview 10 May 2018

Thursday May 10th 2018

Over the six pages of this week’s Overview we first take a look at this morning’s decision by the Reserve Bank to leave interest rates unchanged with no plans for movement until 2020.

Then we look at a unique aspect of the sheep and beef sector making it extra vulnerable to disruption from eventual cheap lab-grown and plant-based alternatives. After that we examine the worth of keeping funds on deposit or in a mortgage free dwelling for the coming decade, make some comments on renting, note easing house building in most regions, and discuss interest rates again.
